Hi,
I will probably be spending 1 night (2 days) in a hotel near the HK airport and was wondering if there's anything to do and see nearby? I don't really want to travel far from the airport with my luggage so I'm planning to stay nearby.
Thanks for any info. |

Nearish the airport;
The Lantau Big Buddha and temple
The 360 cable car ride, a long cable car ride with scenic views and semi reliable cable car rescue service.
Diznee Land. A mini shopping center themed around Mickey Mouse. |

Thank you very much. So it's not in the middle of nowhere. Glad to hear it. |

Oh...I forgot to ask. Does anyone know if the airport has facilities for storing luggage while you disappear into the city for a night. I know they have Lounge and shower facilities (it says so on wiki).

Yes it does.
There's one in the middle of the arrivals hall between arrival gates A and B. I seem to remember it's a bit hidden underneath some stairs.
Can't your hotel hang on to it for free rather than paying at the airport? |

It's <1/2 hour by train to HK island Central, so don't feel like you way out in the boondocks at the airport. |

Thanks everyone.
Well, I'd rather leave it at the airport cause I don't want to carry 30+ kilos around. |
