There's a sarkuteri on Ergenekon Cad in Pangalti that sells after 8s.

I noted that it also sells primula cheese spread.

Rhubarb

a couple of weeks a ago when back in the old country I ate at Prestonfield house. The restaraunt there is called rhubarb because one of the Jacobite di.ck-cunynhams introduced rhubarb to Britain at some point in the mid 1600s. I was surprised by this news as I thought it was native to the UK. Anyone have any idea where rhubarb originates from?

Rhubarb is originally form China.. but it was, for a long time, grown here in what is now Turkey...

But you try going up to any self respecting greengrocer and asking for some Ravent

After trying to explain it was a bit like a leak but a fruit and slghtly red I gave up..

I'd have had a better chance trying to explain to him what Rhubarb the dog was.

Ooh that fuzzy tv show will ruin your eyesight said me mum. Laughing

It'd be far too cumbersome for a windowbox and the leaves would get snagged on the baskets-on-a-rope coming down.

Mmmmmmmmm custard. Dmb, will there be rhubarb n custard at the wedding?

i've bought rhubarb here. it grows in the east. it is thinner and hairier than what i am used to and kind of expensive (3TL for a very little bunch) but still a treat. i bought some last year from a guy on the street but my manav knew about it, since he is siirtli. i wish i had a place to grow it...

Nezih (stationary shop) in the Balık Pazar in Kadikoy sells after dinner mints. You could chop them up and mix them into soft vanilla icecream, freeze it again and wallah! minty chocolate icecream.
I have seen rhubarb around over the years. Is it in season yet? I will keep an eye out for it in the Uskudar markets. In what form do you need dandelion; dried or fresh?

There is a little shop on Moda.cd called Milka which sells everything foreign. They have big fat pork sausages and the like. They sell Oreos, too.

Just thinking...Perhaps try the Eminonu plant market next to the spice pazaar for the seeds for rhubarb. They have monkeys there, so perhaps they have rhubarb.

I wonder if they have any monkeys that know how to grow rhubarb. That would be cool.
