My husband and I are leaving for Japan in 2 months. Can anyone tell me what futon sizes are available and rough costs for double/queen? Or will we have to use two twins? Thanks! |

My wife and I have a double sized futon- it isnt hard to find, nor is it hard to find sheets and blankets to fit it. Not sure the cost, as it was a gift from the in-laws.
Using two single sized futons is OK, but you can have problems. Inevitably, a crack will develop between the two of them sometime in the night. If you enjoy sleeping close to each other, someone will literally wind up with their ass in a crack . Another option is to use one of them for "playtime", then each of you return to your own futon for sleeping. |

Ours cost about $50 or $60. We put that one on top of the two singles that our school gave us. I could sleep on it alone but it is heavenly with both. We tried sleeping on separate futons but at the time it was freezing and we would end up so far apart that we were both freezing and we both felt like we were single again... Buying the full size may be cheaper than buying two twins. You have to find a cheap home goods place, that is where we got ours. The normal stores might be more.. |
