Here's a question as a newbie female to Taipei. Are there any 'bad' areas?

Most big cities have some pretty crime-ridden areas that you'd be quite stupid to be walking around at night (or even during the day...) Are there any areas like this in Taipei?

foreigners are very safe in Taiwan, however, use common sense, and down walk down dark alleys, even though they are typically very safe....Taiwan in general is an extremely safe country for women, much more so than at home...especially at night
