What's that all about then?
Seriously, as the 2000th post, what does it mean to you to be who you are in this city?
For me, it's all about challenge and opportunity. I never had ambition to be a teacher or travel the world. I just kind of ended up here, so I have to exploit it and make the best of it, which I am doing. I've got some crazy stories to tell when I'm old. Every day is a character building experience. I'm learning a new language. And I'm involved in a fantastic alternative music scene. After many years I can actually call myself a music journalist, as I am albeit only on a free-lance basis, but I get stuff published. Yes there are times when I hate everything and want to punch the first person who says "where are you from", but I wouldn't leave Istanbul right now for anything. |

| And what about the Service bus into Taksim from Sahiba Gokcen airport. What's the latest on that? I've got friends arriving next week but don't have the time to meet them at the airport but can meet them in Taksim. |
