No, sorry, but I definitely think that we should start a Romanian forum, maybe more people should email and PM Dave.

Only three people have expressed any interest in working in Romania, so I don't think there's really a need to set up a separate forum for it. |

More than three people, I've been PMing quite a few. And I've been emailing other people who aren't an this forum, but are interested in teaching there. |

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be a Romania forum, and I realise it's a little late now that it's already up and running, but where is the UK forum? It's been requested repeatedly and far more interest shown. Does Dave have something against the UK? |

Some people are still nursing resentment at George III !
Romania has a forum but the UK of GB&NI does not ? |

None of this discussion addresses my question. Can someone please answer my question concerning housing? |

You could try one of the many Romanian websites. Do you read Romanian ? If you rely on English lanuage info you are morel likely to be overcharged.
try www.kappa.ro |

When I was travelling thru Romania I was often hit up at the train station for a place to stay. This ranged from $4 a night (in a private room with a family in Sibiu) to $10 (for a small private apartment on the outskirts of Brasov). I was there two years ago and it seemed to me - in the smaller cities of Transylvania at least - that as long as you come off as a tourist/non-Romanian it's quite likely that someone will hit you up for a place to stay, and I've no doubt they'd be willing to cut you a deal for long-term accomodations. I'm not sure this helps any, seeing as how your question was related to teaching accomodations, but I offer it for what it is and hopefully it'll be more helpful than posts about the need for a UK forum. Cheers. |
