I'm interested in teaching in Taiwan and would like to know exactly what is involved in the physical exam required for a visa. My concern is that I am taking blood pressure medication and might get over there and then be sent home. I have taught in Korea but would like a change of scenery.
Thanks! |

High blood pressure medication will not disqualify you. You should bring your prescription just in case they ask. Having illegal narcotics in your urine will disqualify you. You will also be checked for contagious deceases and HIV/AIDS. If you show signs of infection you will not be allowed to work in Taiwan legally. If you come up positive on the HIV/AIDS test you will be unofficially deported.

Please note that there have been several incarcerations in Taiwan as a direct result of narcotics being detected in urine or blood. |

Thanks for the info. I am otherwise healthy so there should be no problem. I just did not want to fly over there and then not pass the physical. |
