Hey everyone, just want to say thanks for making this forum so great. I taught ESL from 2002 - 2005 in China/2005-2006 in Taiwan, and was always lurking here.

I've been taking a break out of ESL since Sep 2006 and want to jump stright back into it this September.

Just want to quickly ask you guys what you think of GEOS? (i've serched the forums, but a lot of the info is a couple of years old and does not really answer my questions) I've been offered a position with them, but am a bit wary of signing a contract this Sunday without knowing anything about where I will be placed, or even the school I will be joining.

I heard that your the only NET in most GEOS schools- I guess this is my biggest concern seeing I have worked bymyself in Taiwan and it was a bit lonley. Does this bother you GEOS guys? or is this simply not true, and most schools have more than one NET?

Any advice about joining GEOS? Appreciate your feedback.

Most of the old information is still completely applicable to the company today. There haven't been many major changes in the operations of any of the large eikaiwa chains.

Anyone know about GEOS schools only having one NET? Couldn't find anything on this Sad In your experience is it ok? or does it not bother you?

Apparently not. Members of this forum are pretty quick to respond to questions (sometimes even if they only have a passing knowledge of the subject) so the silence must be deafening. Good luck!

I currently work for Geos. I don't know about the rest of Japan, but a lot of the schools in Hokkaido have at least 2 teachers.

And if you're not placed in Hokkaido, then you'll almost certainly be close to another school that has native teachers even if there's only one native teacher in your school. Except Northern Honshu. I've heard it's a bit isolated for teachers up there.
