|
|
So, I have to go to Beijing in August and my next job won't start until December, so I'm thinking of sticking around China to teach English for a semester (Sept-Dec).
Can anyone recommend a good company (or schools?) to go through to find a decent job? I have lots of experience and education and would prefer a bigger city (but not necessarily polluted Beijing!).
Thanks! |

September to December is not a full semester - the semester won't finish until February next year. You'd be better off finding a language training centre rather than a school.
Try Xi'an or Kunming. Fuzhou has a few openings and you could also look at Xiamen or Hainan islands. |

Normally not even a training centre will take someone so short term, unless it's shady They usually insist upon at least a 6 month contract. |

EF is really desperate for teachers in southern China. They usually insist upon a one-year contract and I don't recommend that you go this route but if they are desperate enough and if you are desperate enough, you may wish to contact them.
If you look on www.eslteachersboard.com, China section, you will see their ad for short-term teachers.
All the best,
HFG
Just be perfectly aware before you leap of what your expectations are and what their expectations are and how you will handle them. |

Is the south considered to be the less regarded region of China? I would think that Shenzhen/Hong Kong would be a very well liked area for teachers. That is the main area of the south it seems like. |
