I am a new forum member, and have accepted my first overseas job in Thailand. I am really excited to start, and am looking forward to the experience.

As embarassing as this question is (and I can't find this information anywhere online), is there anyone out there who reads the Harry Potter series?

Basically I am wondering when the final book is going to be released in Thailand? And, more specifically, does anyone know if it is the UK version or the USA version? I am trying to decide whether or not to have my mother mail me the latest from the US, or if it is available in Thailand around the same time.

Sorry for the silly question, but it is important to me! Embarassed

I have read all the books so far, but not as soon as they come out. Nothing to be embarrassed about. It's a very good story and well written.

Anyway, you need to contact Kinokuniya Books:

FYI, here is the email I received from the Siam Paragon bookstore. Just thought you'd all like to know:

In reference to your question on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which is launching on the 21 of July, we will sell it on the same day both US and UK versions. Price is not yet confirm and reservation is also not yet avialable at our stores for the time being.

Best regards,

Santi Suntien

you're kidding, right? The first HP book was a charming young readers' book of under 200 pages and light-hearted fantasy. It has become a production facility for 800-page paranoid nightmares about terrorism.

The first book was fine; all subsequent ones serve the reader best by becoming unread firewood. Spend your money on a Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett novel instead.

Or was this thread simply a dumb way for a book company to advertise without paying for ad-space? Grrr.

Come on, man. I was embarrassed enough posting the question, you didn't need to be mean.

If you poke around on this site you'll see that I am a first time Thailand ESL-er who happens to be embarrassingly addicted to the HP series - finding the book in Thailand is an honest concern of mine. No advertisements.

And I think it'd be safe to say that Bloomsbury/Scholastic has enough advertising funds to refrain from resorting to free posts on an ESL forum.
