Hi there,
I plan to have my CELTA in IH Bangkok by November. I haven't gone to that country yet and I'd like to ask few questions regarding CELTA and Bangkok.
1. Is CELTA in BAngkok the same in USA and UK?
2. Can people there speak in English, let's say in the market, bus, etc?
3. Where can I stay that is not so noisy?
4. If I can find a job in Bangkok after getting the certificate, how much is the usual pay?
5. Is there a possibility that I can work in some countries as well with my CELTA certificate?
6. What's beautiful in Bangkok?
Should you address my concerns, thanks so much... |

A search of this site under the terms "Celta" and "Bangkok" produced four pages of hits.
The following thread from the search would seem to be a good place to start in finding answers to your questions:
http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=52156&highlight=celta+bangkok
My answers to your questions based only on my personal opinions:
1. Is CELTA in BAngkok the same in USA and UK? Probably similar in many respects, but all trainers in all courses have a way of personalizing a course.
2. Can people there speak in English, let's say in the market, bus, etc? More so in Bangkok than most places in Thailand, but do not expect fluency.
3. Where can I stay that is not so noisy? There are many locations outside of downtown Bangkok that are very quiet and there have been several threads here where lodging has been discussed.
4. If I can find a job in Bangkok after getting the certificate, how much is the usual pay? Don't accept anything less than 35,000-40,000 baht a month and ask for more.
5. Is there a possibility that I can work in some countries as well with my CELTA certificate? Absolutely.
6. What's beautiful in Bangkok? A lot. Too much to discuss here and the Internet and this site are replete with information regarding what Bangkok and Thailand offer.
Good luck. |
