The voice synth is pretty awful. Sounds like a speaker of English with no knowledge of Japanese phonemes trying to read romaji. |

Um . . . that was the whole point.
It sounds like an old voice program I used to own. Apparently someone in Japan got a hold of it, and used it to create this. |

I downloaded Microsoft Reader and had it read a book to me. I use a Japanese OS and the default voice synth was a Japanese voice (unbeknown to me). I was blown away by this Japanese "guy" reading this English book and spelling out words that weren't in his vocabulary
Thing is, he sounded exactly like some of my students  |
