Another question.
Right now all I have are photocopies of my documents (degress, TEFL, birth certificate).. Would that be an issue to get an FM3?
Or will I have to get them shipped to me from Canada? None of my docs are legalized, as I wasn't planning on using them to go to Buenos Aires..
And I really don't want to work under the table in Mexico.. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Sabine. |

Try doing a search for 'legalization'; the topic has been discussed in some detail many times in the past.
Essentially, you will need to take the originals plus notarized copies to a Mexican Embassy/Consulate in Canada for the Mexican gov't to legalize them. (The legalization process has to take place in the same country as the documents were issued in.) The process costs about $35 per document and takes about 3 business days. I'm not sure if you can get away with having someone else take them to the consulate for you; I suspect you'll have to take them in person the next time you're in Canada. |

I did a search and realize I'll be visiting home in Ottawa to get my paperwork in order before heading for Mexico..
