Teachers.... based on your experiences with the US and Spanish postal systems.....
I need to send a letter to Barcelona to be there on the 4th from the US West Coast... Do I need to send it via UPS or Fedex? |

I think that airmail should do it OK. I have had good response from the Spanish mails.
Of course if it absolutely has to get there, then Fedex will let you track it. |
