A 40 year old sports teacher recently married one of his 16 year old female students, whom he had been going out with since she joined his track team at the age of 14.

Despite the parents being opposed to the relationship, the teacher finally got his wish, and the mother signed the legal papers permitting the middle aged man to marry the 16 year old.

In most States in the U.S. as long as parental permission is given, adults can marry someone aged 14-17.

When ghost travelled to the Eastern parts of Turkey, it witnessed quite a few old men with young wives - and many children. This was accepted and normal in those parts.

Yes, so what? This happens everywhere and just because this story ends up in the papers doesn't make it exceptional.
Plenty of 40-year old men would date a 16-year old if they could get hold of one. And take a look into the prostitution sector, the younger the better, many prostitutes are under-age and no-one seems to mind. Think of all the guys heading off to S.A.
