For years, I noticed that this was either increasing in frequency or I was just becoming aware of it-I still am not sure. It was enough of a concern that I was approached by a journalist doing a cover story for MacLean's Magazine last year.
I will only mention one name Jiaotong university here in Beijing was connected with a Californian uni - The middleman was absurdly shifty(You'd actually have to meet him in the context I had;then you'd find it quite sad,and funny)
The University of New Brunswick(Beijing) has a high school attached to it(New Brunswick approved), and I had many stories for the reporter.Suffice to say: I gave unofficial IELTS tests to 3 Gr. 12 (Canadian high school diploma holders!!) and gave Bands 3 and two 4s, as an Examiner I gave a Band 4 to a grade 12 grad. |
