Is what I'm hearing about this alarmist crap or is it true? I've heard they've let the reservoirs get down to 6 months of water, some estimates as low as 2 months. If either is the case, then why the hell is no one doing anything to conserve water? By this I mean sprinklers running in the full heat of day, fountains all over the place, not to mention things like neighbors painstakingly detailing thier cars with high pressure hoses running on the ground... And even though this was a dry winter, it takes much longer than a single dry year to cause a water shortage. Did they really let it go this long?
First I heard they were going to do water cuts throughout the day during this summer, but then I heard they decided not to because the government would look bad for the elections. You know, because a government doing something responsible to avert a crisis is worse than a short-term inconvenience for its good citizens.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard talk of this water shortage, and if so, how are people preparing? |

In spring this year they were saying that the reservoir had only 6 months of water left, so by my calculations we will run out of water around August-September. If the country continues in drought, then l suppose the government will have to import water which means everyones water bills will skyrocket. |

You want to save water? Share the bath with your partner. |

That depends on your teaching partner. There are a few at the school where I work that I'd rather swim in Kurbagalidere, Kadikoy (near Dilko) than share a bath with. But then there is one or two female teaching partners, if they asked me to do that I would be happy to oblige. |
