Design your class around the event. It might do you good to be with a class who all support the opposition and cheer when England is hammered !

I'll be happy as long as "Eng-er-land" lose and the smug grin is wiped off Frank Skinner's face.

Personally, after England I always support the under-dogs, or Scotland if there's any difference. This year it's got to be Latvia especially as my club side has a Latvian player.

It's a shame Wales aren't there as I'd be supporting them as my second team.

I'm always surprised that Scottish supporters feel so oppressed that they can never support England. It always strikes me as childish that many of them are quite serious about it, above and beyond bar banter, which I quite accept is a different beast altogether.

saintette sue (and horndean ladies FC)

Good point Sue. I think it's because if you scratch the surface of any Scot, you'll soon find that they all secretly want to be English. They just resent the fact that they can never really be truly English, and they can't join our club. So they act all hurt and pretend that they can't support England. It's sad, really. I think we should let them in, what do you think??!!

Yes, Zorro, I'm from north of de border. 100% Pict and I've got the short, hairy legs to prove it.
Many Anglo-Saxons are notoriously lacking in respect for Johnny Foreigner (cf "los hooligans ingleses"). I once heard an irate English tourist bellowing in Barajas airport, "The trouble with this *** country is that no-one speaks any *** English!"
A little humility goes a long way.
