Hi all.
Can somebody tell me anything about the Shenker Schools? I'm planning an interview with one and have been told that they have a 'teaching system' which requires a couple of weeks of training.
What does the system involve? How rigidly do teachers have to stick to it? What's the training like? What are the schools like generally?
Any helpful comments appreciated.
Thanks,
Al |

I knew someone who took an English course at a Shenker. Apparently they break language down into syllables and individual sounds- not words, sentences or grammatical structures. It's a bit like the audio-lingual method of listen and repeat over and over, except on a syllable-by-syllable basis. Apparently this girl was given a series of tapes that she had to take home for self-study. She was expected to repeat individual sounds over and over, like, "Ra ra ra ra ra, to to to to to, ble ble ble ble..."
I can't speak from personal experience, but this is what the girl told me. |
