|
|
Hi guys,
I'm finally moving to KL tomorrow and I've heard that a good place to rent an apartment is in Bukit Bintang. Any info that you have on this area to live in would be greatly appreciated. Also, how about any other areas? I'm going to be teaching on Jalan Ampang road very close to KLCC.
Thanks,
Z |

Jalan Ampang is a long road and Bukit Bintang is mainly a shopping area. Really depends on your budget. |

Like most things, depends on budget.
I agree with the Bukit Bintang comment but will go further and say it would be a bloody awful place to live, what with rich tourist prices, no LRT nearby (just that crap monorail) and just try getting a nice taxi driver around that area.
KLCC, which you say you'll be working near, has an LRT station so you could live almost anywhere in KL or even the suburbs. There are also some nice condos further north along Jalan Ampang, past all the embassies, around Ampang Point shopping centre. |

Thanks for the info. My budget can stretch to 2000 for the right place. So I should be thinking about living as close to the LRT as possible really then? Sounds like a plan.
Do you know what the area past the embassies is called? I'm going to be staying by the embassies for a couple of weeks anyway and so that'd be really convenient for viewing. Where do you both live? Where do most people with a budget of between 1500 and 2000 live? I know I can wait until I arrive, but I'm an impatient soul.
Thanks in advance. |

Is that USD 2000 or RM 2000? You still have not mentioned the school which would make a lot of difference in the area you want to be staying. Are you alone? Do you want to live in an apartment, a link house, a double storey terrace, a bungalow? Best come and see for yourself. Enjoy KL. |

Good point. It could be 2000 Euro or even UK pounds. Zorro, please specify. |

I don't mean to be rude and I am really grateful for your help, but do you seriously think that an ESL/EFL teacher is going to have 2000 us or 2000 euros or 2000 gbp to spend on rent each month? From what I've read so far about teaching English in Malsysia, the most that the average esl teacher earns is 3500 rm per month. isn't 2000 us about 7000 rm?
So to answer your question, it is 2000 rm. Thanks in advance again. |

I don't follow you.
Anyway, I got a place sorted near Times Square. It's a really nice pad and is only 1500 (rm that is)!!
Looking forward to moving in next weekend. |
