Heard on the metro the other day:
"I'm getting homesick and depressed. The food is terrible here, even sugar is not sweet. I can't stand all these fresh vegetables, weird fruit, strange looking/tasting stuff cooked in horrible olive oil. Where can I find lard? Where can I find salty crisps? My cholesterol level is going down! What am I going to do? I miss soggy chips, greasy burgers, mushy peas, I miss sitting in front of the telly all day. Strange people that I have never met before want to talk to me. But I was taught not to talk to strangers. I am so lonely. people are so unfriendly here. I hate my mother-in-law, my husband is macho. Men are terrible here, they have brown skin and two eyes and flat heads. What is the best way to get to Besiktas from Taksim?"
Does it sound familiar to you? Razz

And your point is...?

Or you just felt a need to take a cyber-stab at a bunch of strangers whose ideas you were never forced to read?

I don't know why you are offended. One who plays with fire must expect to be burnt, as the old saying goes. And besides, you also aren't forced to read this.
By the way, was that you on the metro?

Stop ,stop, all this twaddle about soggy peas and chips ,some of us forget the last time we ate such dealicies and that foaming pint of John Smiths or even Tetleys, not not the tea, the real stuff as in good old English ale gives you wind and a massive beergut but its worth the risk . I'm definitely going home for xmas .
