All about the best places to get a full-on wax, where to buy decent bras and the cheapest tampons and whatever other girlie topics you care to share. |

Yes, please share waxing experiences. I don't know why pubic hair is a necessary fact of life but fortunately we have devised ways to deal with it. So ... |

this thread already exists, I believe, under 'questions for women' - any chance of bumping these together, Mods? |

...perhaps I should be more specific. Do they insist on taking er, everything? Are they generally trained or can I expect third-degree burns? How much should I pay? etc etc Thanks girls |

I'd be interested in the leg-waxing thing. Bit tired of shaving my legs ...
And why on earth is it soooo difficult to find tampons here? Really, I end up asking all my visitors to bring some. Can't help it but Always ultra super-mega is just not my thing.
And yes, there was a similar thread, but it died out... |

For waxing, I'd say get a recommendation from someone, and have them come with you if you need help explaining what you want. I think they tend to do the Hollywood wax unless you specify otherwise (I've got my waxing names straight, yes? The Hollywood is all of it and the Brazil is with the landing strip?). But if they're no good scary things can happen. My first wax here (actually my first in my life), she waxed parts that aren't meant to be waxed, probably because there's no hair there. If I were into S&M I might have liked it, but I'm not and I didn't. I was quite pale for several hours after. Also, if they're no good, you'll end up very bumpy and itchy a few days after.
See the lost women's thread for tampon info. It's all about applicators or lack of. The boys got sick of the applicator discussion. I bet you could do a search with the word 'applicator.'
Maybe I should start selling my tampons! I have 2 huge Costco boxes from the States, but then got pg, and I won't be needing them for a long while yet... |

I love Babyface, off Istiklal down the street where Garanti Bank is. The one in the middle of Istiklal. It's 13 or 15 YTL for a waxing. As far as I know they take it all off but you could try to explain a Brazilian wax to them. I have had a 40 minute session that ended in bleeding and bruising and a 10 minute session that didn't hurt at all. Good luck, haha! Next time I go back I'll get the name of the girl who doesn't hurt. But it lasts a long time and is cheap... They do legs and that too. |

Found a nice drug store today, just off Taksim square. It is on the road when you walk towards the German hospital (instead of heading into Istiklal). Nicely stocked with all kind of beauty products and they sell 3 different sizes of o.b. !
What about shoes and clothes? Any nice shoe shops around? |
