Please, could someone tell me when EF or other Indonesian schools state completive salary, in their advertisements. How much is that in Dollars or Rupiah?
Thanks |

Imagine this -- "completive" -- coming from someone who wants to be an English teacher! |

i think it is about 8mil a month + dodgy housing (in jkt). outside jkt the salary is less but compared to cost of living it probably works out better. EF should only be for teachers with no experience and then only for 1 year. although it can be an ok starting point for the newly qualified anyone who works for ef for longer is an idiot. once you live here better jobs should be easy to find for your 2nd year. |

Ok, I'm going to pimp it hard right here. If you want to get a job with no questions asked (i.e. no teaching qualification/degree/anything at all) and still make 9.5 million/month, you want to hit EF English First Pondok Indah.
Don't get me wrong, there's little to recommend it: the boss is corrupt, the manager is an idiot and you will learn the square root of *beep* all, but as long as you work there for a max of 1 year, it's a decent, and well-paid lead-in.
Just don't tell the manager, Kali Jaganath (sounds deep, right? He's just a waste of space aussie called Neville in real life) that I clued you in.
P.S. If you're female and have a nice chest, you're a shoo in.
P.P.S. Don't rub his nose in the fact that he's a waste of sperm.
P.P.P.S. DO ONE YEAR. NO MORE. |

As someone suggested, is "Completive" English?
Possibly, the writer is talking about "all-in" salary or "package".
Some schools provide a package deal of job, house, maid (cleaning and laundry duties only!) and other associated costs such as paying the local security guards, the garbage fee, etc.
Only the school can answer that. EF West JKT paid for it all, whereas other more 'cost-conscious' EF schools paid F. all. |

while completive may indeed be a word, and it doesnt sound too far off potentially, I believe the poster intended to write "competitive', and in his/her haste, slipped in an "l" and omitted an "i". |

Yeah, it didn't make good sense, granted, but give him a break!
8 million can be considered average to low even in Sumatera now..
9+ for a first year should be considered a good, competitive salary (in Medan, at least..)
I wonder if icekool meant "completive" to mean 'a bonus upon "completing" the contract'??
salam

OK, I'm looking back on what I posted and I'm not proud of myself.
Why?
Well:
1.) I recommended an EF school.
2.) I recommended EF Pondok Indah.
3.) Well, if you don't get why 1 and 2 are so shameful, I've sunk lower than I thought.
4.) But, still... |
