Allow me to share recent events at Lingnan College/Lingnan Polytechnic/
Guangdong Lingnan Institute of Technology.I have checked that the information I was given is true.
In the last 12 months,foreign teachers have been housed on the same floor,first with girl students,and then with chinese construction workers.
Imagine your apartment being right beside many chinese workers(6 workers to a room).Daily spitting,yelling,door slamming,rubbish chucked everywhere.Yep,Lingnan sure look after their F T's.
Then there are the exorbitant electricity and water bills,up to 500 - 1000 a month for some F T,s. Complain to the person in charge of F T's you say?
sure,they have.The reply "It's not my job,can't do anything"
So Lingnan are now down to 2 Philipinos and one "elderly"white guy.
Lingnan are not a "Foreigner Friendly" College by any stretch of the imagination.Work there at your peril.

To the other posters who are NOT from Guangzhou,

Take the OP's thread at face value please. For those of here on the ground in Guangzhou, the horror stories about this particular institution are legion and they have been legion for years.

Avoid it. Run from it. Go find a another job. Just don't work there. It ranks almost right on top with Baiyun and Alcanta and one more that discretion prevents me from naming.

Guangzhou is a really good job market but this institution is not.
