Oh gosh -- I worked with that "teacher-victim". She was one of the looniest of the loonies at KUFOM. Finally got herself thrown in jail. No surprise.

I just read the article- absolute drivel. I remember standing in her classroom one day as she read me a memo to the owners all filled with comlaints. She said she was 'going to get Kulaifi' ( the owner) , wasn't penniless as she had a Kuwaiti byfriend looking after her, used to pester me on the phone until I stopped answering.

If I remember correctly she was fired for being a) a crap teacher b) lippy and I think her previous contract at K Uni had been cut short or was not renewed- you see sometimes .....teacher do lie! ( Of course you'll all have to take my word for thisLOL )

BTW - I taught for 4 years in A'Takamul and it was fine-one of the only places where Arabic and Western staff had one staffroom and actually gelled.

Miski's command of colloquial English is impressive for a Kuwaiti lady. I wonder where she picked it up. Probably not at the Berlitz school in Bneid al Gaar.

Hmmmm. I guessed that. You're probably from Rochdale or Sheffield?
Seriously though, why do you refer to Kuwait as Q8? You're not the only one but I remember that the Kuwaitis pronounced the name of their homeland as KWAIT. BTW, I am very pedantic.

You're a Liverpudlian, then? Nothing wrong with that but how do you pronounce KUWAIT when you speak Arabic? I'm trying to imagine SALMIYA with a scouse accent.
