Bring your ARC or passport, the cash and ask the guy usually at the foreign exchange counter to help you wire the money home. You fill out some form and it's done, should take no more than 10 minutes and less than 5 after you know what you're doing. They give you a receipt and within 48 hours it is in your acct(normally less than 24 hours for me).

Most banks charge a fee of around NT$300, but you don't need an account with the bank to be able to send money. |

I just went in yesterday to wire money home to Canada.
China Trust
$500 Commission
No Passport used but they told me to bring it in next time.
The form is pretty basic and straightforward to fill out.
I was finished in about 15 minutes or so. |

You money should be in your ( US ) bank account the same day since it is in the middle of night in New York ( where the money is routed through throughout North America) when the FRB opens, they will send it to your bank and it will post by the end of business that day. Mine are being credited about 2PM in the afternoon US time. ( the middle of the night, the next day here)
Basically, if you wire your money, then go to sleep, it MUST be there when you wake up the next morning. If it is not , there was a problem.
Been doing it since 1995, and it was misdirected out of Taiwan twice for me. Never in Korea. Bring a check in and make sure they have the routing number exactly.
One time they refunded me the cost of an overdraft I incurred. ( Taipei Bank)
The other bank would not take the blame. |

If you have a bank account sending money home in easy. It will be in your overseas account in the same day you send it. Take your ARC and passport too along with your bank book. It's no more difficult than that. |
