Situation: I have been "hired" by two dispatch companies in Japan. However, neither has confirmed a placement for me yet. They both are starting the work visa process. I am awaiting a certificate of eligibilty. I want to work for whichever company confirms a placement for me first.

Questions: Is it possible for two different companies to start a work visa process for me? Is there a limit to how many companies I can let pursue this? During this process will they find out about my other sponsor?

Thanks

COEs don't exactly grow on trees - probably two would not knowingly/willingly be issued - but unless the two companies are obtaining the COEs through the exact same channels, there might not be the checks in place to stop one or other of the processes.

I guess you'll know what's what if and when you receive only one COE (BTW I doubt if you will be held responsible, removed as you are, for what's going on in Japan 'in your name'), but in the happy event that you somehow get two, they'll both be in your name and could only be traded in for the one visa in your passport, so hypothetically speaking, where's the problem/who'd object?

One thing you might want to consider is the expense that the companies may be going to (still, more fool them eh, if they're doing stuff without your having yet signed a contract binding you to one or other of them, as seems to be the case).
