Hawler monkey aka the Cambrian Virago is actually mistaken in the matter of my identity. The guy she vilified in her characteristically abusive
post was a harmless eccentric, well liked by the students, who left because the salary was inadequate compensation for the physical dangers and the
hopeless lack of organisation.
Nobody actually stays there for longer than a few months except for the DOS and his two supporters.Other teachers have left suffering from ulcers, depression and stress related illnesses.A young British teacher was recently told that if he criticised the DOS' accent he would be subject to immediate dismissal. The DOS also informed him that the IELS tests and the Cambridge texts were all incorrectly wriiten and presented by the publishers.
Whilst I don't know if halwermonkey has any advanced qualifications in psychiatry,I do feel it is cruel and abusive for her to stigmatise people who choose to leave as being mentally odd.
Workplace bullying is a major problem in the West. Why go into a war zone to experience it?
The Kurds have suffered dreadfully over the past century. They really do deserve better from this 'university'. |

Rennenkampf is right. All of the teachers we liked have left. Kurdistan university was not grateful for their experience. I was only a student but I decided it was not a good place to study. Those teechers deserve to find better jobs. They really helped us. |

I don't think I've mistaken your identity. Your hyperfluous vindictive ramblings and your previous posts about Saudi give your identity away. I haven't taken part in too much non-constructive bickering but I have witnessed several and most of those people have left (although one or two good teachers may have unfortunately left over the year aswell). The 'Cambrian Virago', 'Welsh Witch' or 'Tefl Jezebel' as she has been referred to in this forum is an extremely hard-working and conscientious teacher. You mention bullying. It is a sad fact that a significant number of people who choose to work in Iraq are a little eccentric or maverick and may have problems with interpersonal skills. Many of these people also leave after a short time.
By the way I am not Welsh. I am the young male British teacher you were referring to in your post and I have never been threatened with dismissal.
Personally I would like to do something to help Kurdish and Iraqi students because they have had enough shit in their lives. I don't usually spend my time on forums, but if someone doesn't defend the university from jaded vindictive individuals (why are they so bitter), they may actually stop good teachers from applying and we will get more teachers like Rennenkampf. Then this institution will be screwed and so will the students.
Kurd must be one of the students who was asked to leave because he was enrolled at two universities and collecting a government living allowance from both (and would be charged for fraud in western countries) or a troll masquerading as a student. |
