So here's a question, I know that manga is huge in Japan, but I just realized that I have no idea how I'm going to keep up with my various comic titles back home. Do any stores in Japan carry western comics? If not in single issue form, then maybe at least in trades? If not I may have to get my cousin to get my books from the local shop and mail'em every month, but I'd like to avoid having to bother him with that.

Don't know about stores, you can find the odd comic in foreign sections at various bookstores, but the selection is limited. There probably are comic stores, try searching on rakuten.co.jp

Otherwise, do what I do - subscribe. Cheap, reliable and a monthly present!

There is a comic book store in Kobe that carries American comics only - he gets them in weekly. On the downside the cover price on some issues can be as much as 1000yen (thanks I guess to the exchange rate).

Subscriptions would cover some of it, but the more indy stuff would have to be imported I guess. I'll go check the DC and Marvel websites to get a feel for the pricing I guess.

most indy stuff these days has subscriptions overseas and homepages unless its reeeeaaaal indy and total analog, lo fi.

IN that case, just buy online.
