Hi,

I just spent 4 years in Korea. The money was good but the living was difficult. I enjoyed teaching and my students but Korea is a difficult place for a foriegner. I'm thinking about ShangHai. How does it compare? How is it being a single hetero man over 35? Are the Chinese xenophobic like the Koreans? Also how about the private lesson situation? Any info you can give me will be appreciated.

I also did 4 years in Korea, and came to China (did 2 years here).... I am now moving back to Seoul next week, and I am happy to be going back. If you find it difficult to live in Korea, China will be almost impossible...I am also single hetero man over 35, and if it is a Chinese girl you want, you can do it in Shanghai no prob, but then go back! The Chinese are much more xenophobic than the Koreans, trust me on this.
I found Korea difficult at times, but after living here, I truly miss Korea - imagine that.
