I'm new to Mexico, and I've been living in Monterrey for a month. Just wondering what's going down around town. I'm relatively young (27), single and male, and simply looking for something fun to do on the weekends (from coffee to partying, or coffee and partying, or mix and match any combination of liquids and events).
Would appreciate any input/suggestions you might have. Feel free to e-mail me or reply on this board. Thank you.
peace out. JP |

I suggest that you ask your students. Or, if you happen to be teaching kids, your Mexican co-workers/boss. Or buy a local newspaper and look at the ads. I've only visited Monterrey for a week (for last year's MEXTESOL convention--why not join the local chapter to meet other English teachers or trainee teachers?) but there seemed to be a lot of advertizements posted around for concerts and events. Mexicans tend to be warm and inviting, so don't be shy and try to strike up friendships with those around you.
Best of Luck, |

There's lots to do in Monterrey. It depends upon where you are living and if you have access to transportation. Your best bet is to go downtown to the Barrio - lots of bars/coffee stuff there. San Pedro is really nice but high priced and very North American. I'm back home now but just spent 1 year in Monterrey - if you have any questions feel free to email me. |
