I was wondering how difficult it is to find a job in Taipei. I have taught English in Korea for around 18 months. I only have a B.A. but I have recommendations from my previous job.

I am a 27 year old American and was wondering how difficult it is to get a job in Taipei. I am planning on arriving in Taipei on September 1.

If you have a BA then you're perfectly able to engaging in TEFL in Taiwan. The issue thus is not so much getting a job. Taiwan is full of advertised TEFL positions. The real challenge is about finding the type of job you want, at a place you would feel comfortable woking in, in a city you feel happy with. This can be more challenging but with a BA and prior TEFL experience in Asia you shouldn't have many, if any, problems finding work. Good luck!

You'll have no problem JZ.

Take your time and look around a bit though - there is a huge variation in types of work, and types of schools. MUCH more so than in Korea.

There are junior college type schools that offer better situations than language schools that you might look at also. They tend to offer comparable wages but much better hours and more vacation time.
