I am planning on being in Costa Rica for about 4 months. I am wondering what the best way is to get around the 90 day tourist visa restriction? Will I have a problem if I stay over 90 days? Is it difficult to cross the border after 90 days and re-enter? It is possible to get a teaching job without gettig a work visa right? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! |

All this information is easily found using the search function. But since I'm a nice guy, I'll answer you:
If you leave Costa Rica on an overstayed visa, you will either miraculously slip through the cracks in their nearly watertight immigration-emigration system, or, more likely, you will be summarily executed on the spot by the Costa Rican secret police. They have designated mops and vacuum cleaners (for the brain tissue) for people like you. |

Thanks!
I take it that means I'll be fine on my tourist visa and staying past 90 days?
I am gullible so you have to be careful about what you say to me! |

We have heard many different stories on this one. $45 - $65 for overstay, and also free through the airport. Go figure.
Cute about the mop and the vacuum |
