Can't tell you anything about HCMC vs. Hanoi, but in terms of HCMC vs. BKK and T-land, in spite of their numerous similarities, the two places are still worlds apart. Thai culture, as you know, is centred around pleasure and fun, while Vietnamese culture is focused on work and perseverance, like the Chinese.

Also, Thailand is much more developed and Westernized, although with the booming economy HCMC is changing rapidly. There are some good places for shopping, dining, entertainment, etc. but nothing like the seemingly endless variety of Bangkok.

To take the CELTA what are the advantages and disadvantages of studying in Bangkok as opposed to Saigon?

A whole lot more to do in Bangkok, but that is not always a bad thing.

Thanks, I have lived in Thailand so I know all about Bkk. I'm sure they are quite different cities. I'd kinda like a comparison of the cities as I've 'done' Thailand and would like to try something new.
