Hi folks,yet another reminder to the uninitiated;avoid this 'mob' at all costs.
They don't pay you anywhere near on time.The 'family' runs the business from HQ in Poznan.'Don Jacek Bachalski' doesn't give a fig about his trainers.I was a teacher trainer there many years ago and when my contract was not honoured I quit and vowed to warn EFL 'soldiers' for the rest of my days about the 'Godfather of EFL crime'.
I knew 4 teachers who taught there last year and some waited more than 3 months for their first pay cheque.There is no training, no support and they hire natives without quals/experience....always a bad sign.With the Americans they do the ...'we can't pay you as you're not legal yet scam.'
If there is a schools' blacklist, this school should be at the top in Poland.
To Bachalski all I say is this;Get out of the education business because you are a disgrace!!

JDJ Bachalski is awful, Profi-Lingua is a farce, private students are inconsiderate, cancelling morons...just where ARE the good teaching opportunities in Poznan Smile

The problems in Poznan are many:too many schools and too many drunken, unqualified native speakers. An employer friendly employment situation,greedy money grabbing school owners and non-natives who love to see the natives getting in the shite.
The attitude to foreigners has certainly changed.The halcyon days of the 90's are no more.!!Skoda.

The school I worked at had no drunken native speakers Smile

(they fired the last one:). The Polish teachers were OK, I didn't sense too much hostility from them. But I agree with your assessment of the excessive NUMBER of schools, Biffin. It's a zoo here.
Oh to be back in the 90s... Smile

I worked at Profi and jacked after the 1st semester....a really poor teaching environment...not to mention about 20 groups/week.They tried the 'we're gonna take u to court you' thing...yeah right.
As for drunken natives....that's how we're perceived a lot of the time over there now.
Not back in the Gulf as yet but departure looming....
back to the land of the teabag grabbers!!

Yeah, Profi can be frustrating at times, to say the least...right now I'm still trying to get my pay for June (they owe me over 5000PLN) so I can get out of here. One of the textbooks I had was lost, I ordered it from another bookstore in Poznan, and am now waiting for it (I must pay for it). I've been told by Profi that I won't get my pay until they get that text book back. I worked my butt off all year at this school...
The attitude at many (all of?) these private language schools seems to be that they are doing YOU a big favour by employing you. Therefore, teachers are ingrained with this attitude that they should be grateful for having a job. Polish employers simply don't seem to be willing to change/make concessions in this regard.
