Hi Folks
I am pretty new to the forum and this is my first post and was wondering if someone could give me some advice, I've read some previous posts over the past few days and I really hope I am not repeating the questions that have been asked before but It would be great if anyone could give me a bit of advice,
I'm 24years old and have been working in Iceland for a few years and feel like a new challenge, I don't have a degree but I have a HNC and I'm going to sit my TEFL course v.soon, I've also been in contact with Brookyln Bridge regarding teaching vacancies avaliable and have some positive feedback from them regarding work and a possible interview once i come to argentina. Is it easy enough to find flatmates and a basic teaching wage enough to survive on ?
Can anyone recommed a english speaking site that has info on housing accomdoation? i speak swedish and icelandic but i'm going to learn spanish next week and of this stage I only know "Hola and Una creveza por favor" also is it possible to find a bar/cafe/pub in BA which shows Scottish football?
great site and many cheers |

Try www.yesba.org or www.craigslist.om.
I found my flat via the first one. I was quite lucky when I found a flat as I was living with an Argentine who didn't charge 'gringo' rates so I got a good deal. I think that is quite a rarity tho as most Argenitne ar cottoning on to the fact that foreigners are flooding into the country and are charging ridiculous prices for rent.
I worked for brooklyn bridge as well and I guess I would recommend then too, they don't pay too well but they are reasonably well resourced and provide all the textbooks and a good amount of classes. I think they the best of a bad bunch I guess, hehehe!!
Good luck, you'll need it to survive there it's tough, take lots of savings with you you'll need them!!
Ps off to iceland in October looking forward to that!! |
