car / kah /
key / kee /

"KAK key"

No "r" sound evident in American (US) pronunciation of the word. None that I've ever encountered, anyway.

Ka (like you're gonna say cat, but don't say the "t" at the end)
Kee (like a car key)

I say "ka" like "fa" in father.

I think I've always mispronounced it, though. I just decided that I liked my pronunciation better!

Oh, and I'm American, so imagine an American accent saying it.

Khaki is a cloth - originally from India. It then became the standard name for a colour - it's the colour used for British Army uniforms
