What is a reasonable hourly rate for teaching an SAT preparatory course in a major market (Beijing, Shanghai, etc.)? I believe New Oriental is one of the few chain schools to offer such courses regularly. Could anyone give me an idea what the prevailing wage for teaching a one-off or occassional course might be? |

Well Mr. Pete with our good buddy Old Oriental in the mix....not too much.It truly is saturated here, and all the trouble that goes with that. I try and focus only on EAP/ESP et al, but even so, 150-200 RMB seems to be pushing the envelope- for me. Maybe, you can try 250-300 RMB,eh ?
