Hi,
My friend just left Japan to go back to the United States. She had packed a bottle of wine and a bottle of sake in her carry-on before she remembered about the liquid restrictions. So she asked me to ship the bottles to her because they are priceless for sentimental reasons.

Does anyone know the rules of shipping alcohol to the US from Japan?

Thanks for your help. I can't read Japanese so it's difficult to research this question on Japanese postal service websites and I can't yet speak enough Japanese to ask the postal officer.

I know the various takyubin (courier) places have special packs for sending wine and sake so I assume the post office would.
