Has anyone ever worked for this company?
Did you have a postive or negative experience? |

I've heard generally fairly negative things about their "method" of teaching.
Up and down about how they are as an employer- which makes sense, as it's run as a franchise, so one can be very different than another. How about letting us know which one you're considering (or at least country/city) and seeing if someone with first hand experience can chime in.
Best,

I've heard it's an easy method, based on CALL, but don't know much about it. |

Ever work at McDonald's ? Burger King ? Wendy's ? Well, throw on a dapper suit (funny, but gals don't have to play New York lawyers),work in some of the most show off areas of downtown somewhere ,work environment that seems more swanky and techy than anything Gene Roddenberry could think of, the salary won't reflect that...and they do something with the English language, I think ?
P.S. Seriously though, their salary in Beijing was 15,000 RMB in 1999-2000,it's now something like 10,000-11,000,maybe less.Funny, but in that time I think Beijing's had high inflation, not deflation. |

Working for Wall street isn't so bad. If you need a visa, they'll arrange all the paper work for you. I worked in Wall street in Brazil and Mexico, they're run pretty much like NOVA in Japan.
If memory serves:
You have the Service Manager (DOS), English Technicians (Teachers)
and a bunch of IMACs. What happens is that the student sits down in front of the computer for an hour and goes through a ton of grammar activities. Then they chat online with students in other parts of the world (Wall street has its own network). Afterwards they have language practice (conversation class) with the teacher and you are given a small teachers manual for the grammar exercises to follow along with the student.
Its not as business oriented as they would have you believe...its just a bit fancy. If you have to work for a school, they aren't a bad choice. Above average wages, benefits, visas.
Its a school for rich kids who want to impress other rich kids. |
