UNAM in Mexico City runs what I consider the best Spanish for foreigners course around. You might find similar programs at universities in the cities you selected. Try searching by the term CEPE (Centro de Ensenanza Para Extranjeros).

In Cuernavaca, there is a school called Cuauhnahuac (sp?) that has a good summer program, as I've been told. In fact, there is a poster here on the forum that works there, if said poster wants to chime in.

I've heard good things about several schools in Oaxaca City, but I can't seem to recall any of the names right now Embarassed If you have the name of one or two you are looking at, I'll ask the teachers who have studied Spanish here. (I've never studied Spanish, formally that is, in Mexico).
I've also heard rave reviews about programs in San Cristobal, which tend to be some of the cheapest in Mexico.

http://www.planeta.com/schoolist.html#Oaxaca

stumbled on this list today, and it jogged my memory. I've heard rave reviews about Becari. Mixed (both rave and so-so) about ICO--I think they are in the process of changing their name? and bad reviews about the classes offered through the UABJO.

I don't know too much about the summer programme, to be honest. Like at most schools there are excellent Spanish teachers and a few others that are best avoided if you want to learn anything. The campus is worth a look and I think, from what I hear, that the rates they charge are similar to those at other schools. If you google the school name, you will find the school website for more information.
