Also be sure to send her supervisor and everyone else in management a breakdown of why you left, once you are out of the country. If a group of you go at the same time, hopefully you can at least get her fired. A copy of this post should be about the right tone.

If a group of you decamp, it should get their attention because this will cost them a lot of money... and that is what Chouefat is all about is making money.

Mmmm....if I could wager a guess as to which branch of Choueifat this is, I would say Sharjah.

Here's the deal: they systematically promote incompetent people. Those people take direction w/o question are victims of bullying by the admin themselves. They tend to be highly unprofessional, favour friends and punish those they dislike. They're terrible w/ the kids...all those incidents katieinireland described sounded hauntingly familiar to my ACQ who had been denied her position despite multiple applications over a series of years before the school finally relented and gave it to her. With something to prove, she was a TOTAL cow to work for. Though it was crappy, I rarely worked beyond 4:00 w/ the exception of taking exams home now and again.

But this is the rub: if you want better employment opportunities in K-12, you've got to get your teaching qualification. We can moan about Choueifat all we want, but at the end of the day if we don't have that qualification, we can't expect schools that hire us to be top notch. It's the qualified teachers who get sucked into SABIS that I pity more because they actually had options.
