Has anyone got any recommendations for a song that uses alot of simple present. I want to use it for a remedial presentation (at upper elementary level) |

'Don't stand so close to me' by The Police does... and the subject matter could provoke an interesting discussion... maybe just sniggers at elementary level though. |

Beautiful -Christina Agulierra
"I am beautiful"
"you are beautiful"
I'm using this song this week because I am teaching "I am (insert adj)" "she is (adj)". I got a few Ecuadorian students and they like to take pride in her since her real father was from Ecuador. |

I'm flattered that you remembered! (coincidentally, today is my b-day)
Where, though, are the present simple verbs?
Suzanne Vega's... crap, what's it called... the "do do do do do do do do" song. Some present continuous, too.

Wonderful tonight - Eric Clapton. The older recordings.
My multi-lingual class students always loved this song and it doing it in class was, for most of them, the first time they really understood the words. |

For present simple - "God Save the Queen"...
What about some other grammar...
"If" by Bread is great for first and second conditionals. |

I taught my pre-school kids in Taiwan the song "Accidently Kelly Street" by an Australian group called Frente. It is full of the simple present and is very easy to sing. I don't know if you can download it from a website anywhere. |

Sung to Liverpool fans at Old Trafford...
Your mum's on the game
Your dad's in the nick
You can't get a job 'cos you're too f****ng thick
In your Liverpool slums
You look in the dustbin for something to eat
You find a dead cat an' you think it's a treat
In your Liverpool slums...
How about that then.....? |
