I'm looking for a job in Yunnan but I have never seen any schools from Yunnan post on Daves ESL cafe. I'm curious about the job market in Kunming. Is there a thick expat community in Kunming? Have any of you ever worked in Yunnan? Have you had good experiences or bad experiences?

I can't tell you much about Yunnan, but I can tell you how to find information on Yunnan.

(1) Follow this link.

(2) In "Search Query", Type in the word(s) yunnan and/or kunming in the field "Search for Keywords".

(3) If you enter BOTH "yunnan" and "kunming", it's best to choose "Search for all terms" instead of "Search for any terms or use query as entered" for better results.

(4) In "Search Options", under "Forum", choose "China (Job-related Posts Only)" or "China (Off-Topic)" to narrow your searches.

(5) Click the "Search" button.

(6) Start opening threads that interest you, preferably in a new window so you don't have to re-do your search over and over.

I'd search in posts rather than threads. If you're going to search through threads you might as well do it manually.

Kunming is a great city - lots of students, nice park, bars, restaurants etc - and Yunnan is awesome. Not sure abiut schools but the cost of living is low and the people friemdly. Just watch out for the dogs in the countryside: Feral and vicious!
