Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if I hold a HK ID Card, would it have any impact to my status as an EDB NET? Will I be disqualified from receiving the Housing Allowance?

Would I be able to bring more luggages if I enter HK with a working visa? Would EDB skip the working visa process in my case? OR Should/Can I request EDB to apply for a working visa for me? I worry that I don't have enough luggage room to bring my belongings to HK.

I was born in Hong Kong and was immigrated to Canada when I was very young. Basically, I grew up in Canada and received my education and teacher training there. I have been teaching for quite some years now. I don't know what's better for my situation.

Also, does anyone have any recommendation for a good reliable shipping company for me to move to HK?

Thank you for your help in advance!

If you have a Hong Kong ID for a permanent resident you don't need a visa. If you can prove that your home is outside Hong Kong then you should be able to claim housing allowance even if you have a permanent residents visa but they are looking into that so it may change.
Why are you bringing so many things to Hong Kong? I suggest you bring the minimum you need and buy when you are here - so much cheaper than shipping it out. You should get a baggage allowance but it is only HK$1000 or so.
