Again, sorry guys, but the navigation here has really gone awry! I can only log in to this forum - I want to post a reply on the Korean job discussion board but it won't recognise me. Weird.
Could some kindly person do the honours for me and forward this to the relevant forum, please?
To the guy who wants help with teaching possessive pronouns:
They can be used as nouns - ie., as the subject or object in a sentence.
Most of the comments have been about possessive *adjectives*.
Possessive pronouns: mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, yours, theirs.
Possessive adjectives: my, your, his, her, its, our, your, their.
None of the above contains an apostrophe!
Examples:
My book is dearer than your book (possessive adjs.)
Mine is dearer than yours (possessive pronouns).
That's my book! (adj.)
That's mine! (pronoun)
Hope this helps, and apologies for sticking it here, but this site is seriously in need of a software expert right now (sorry, Dave!) |
