A PNET Q(For which, I swear, I have done some homework)

Hi,

I understand that with a degree, a TESL certificate, but no post-graduate experience, I may be considered eligible to be entered into the PNET scheme under category IV.

I will be graduating in the Spring; my thesis will be corrected and processed somewhere, I'm told, by late June. Thus, it seems, I won't physically have a degree until sometime in the mid summer..

I intend to apply through the EMB site, but from what I have seen, I am looking at an indeterminate waiting period between graduating and finding a job (and, yes, while I realize that in these matters I should be very, very, very patient and allow for this kind of setback, I figure knowing as much as I can may prevent that period from being so severe).

My question is *drum roll*

If I were to apply to listed PNET jobs on my own, having just-barely-adequate qualifications, would the school be willing to do paperwork for me?

In other words, without having been accepted into the NET scheme by the government, is it less likely that I will find a job, and stand to receive the same sorts of benefits as someone who was accepted into the scheme?

Furthermore, are there times throughout the year wherein schools are so desperate to find Primary teachers, that they would be more willing to consider category IV-level people.

Anything helps! Thank you.

what you'd most likely find is that if you apply directly to the schools (and assuming they want you), they'll hire you as a NET (note: not a PNET) meaning you're not covered by the EDB, would have a lower starting salary and wouldn't get the $13k /mth Special Allowance.
On the plus side, if you do go that way, being here and the xp might help you get into the PNET scheme later.
