|
|
The SAFEA contract booklet which I and my Filipino colleague have signed is a photocopy of the actual contract booklet. When I asked the FAO lady of the school's head campus today, she told me that the people at SAFEA in Shenyang told her that they had no more booklets and as such, schools in Liaoning would have to give photocopies to the FT's to sign. She noted that it is obviously acceptable since the office in Shenyang has issued our FEC's. She then told me that if I didn't believe her, that I am free to ask other FT's in Liaoning province. So, my question to anyone and everyone who has signed a new contract or renewed their contract in the last three months is, was your contract an original copy, or was it photocopied without a contract number? |

Whoops - I misread the entire post. You mean the contract. I saw "book" and thought FEC.
My first job in China that is what they gave too - just the copy ... different provinces use the copies and some have the real, official/with serial number booklets ...
It is still legal and valid and still contains all the same pathetic English translation

i'm in DL too and I signed an original (numbered) contract the first week of july. What that means now is anyone's guess. |

Well it COULD mean that the school had a newer booklet on-site before the education department (in this case SAFEA) ran out and subsequent people at other schools didn't ...
Not a big deal - the contract is binding |

Had the same thought, lostinasia. But hey we're all just guessing, and really only time will tell if TW's school actually abides by the contract. Good luck TW, and give me a call sometime (We live a short walk from the DILI campus) |
