Does anyone have any information on WUXI? On the city or the universities there? Anyone work in any of the schools there and have insight - good or bad - on the schools and the city or surrounding towns? |

I am in and out of Wuxi a lot . It is probably one of the most gentrified cities in China. Because it is a business city, education is not a priority . There is no great library ,art gallery or museum for instance . Most FTswork at a bushibon because the schools and universities are far from the city . There is a university that is connected with Lampton College in Canada. They pay little . I worked for Wuxi International School for a year . It was hell but they are now Taiwan managed so things are probably better there now .
There is a bar there called Ronnies Australian bar where there is good live music and a large foreign patronage . Many foreigners there in business . |

I don't know the work scene there, but...
Wuxi is probably the dullest city in Jiangsu, in my opinion. Suzhou has the beauty. Other cities nearby do the "gentrified model city" thing better, and cheaper. There is truly *nothing* in Wuxi which a number of other cities within 90 minutes' travel don't have. |
