I am flying to Taipei on Saturday and have some interviews lined up. I am sure that the school will probably want me to start work asap. Is it a big problem to work while your visa is being processed?
I don't want to be deported. |

no...this is pretty much par for the course....you can't get a RV without a work permit, and typically the schools have you working for them before they can apply for the work permit...its one of those bureaucratic catch 22's that everyone kind of looks the other way about....
pretty much the same way they look the other way when you come to Taiwan on a VV and you're just coming here for vacation or to visit friends...because so many foreigners want to see the beautiful beaches of Taiwan...lol |

Thanks for the information. Is there any way to make some extra money since kindys are illegal? |

yeah, the most typical way is through private tutoring....or language exchange...easiest way to find people who want tutoring (or girls who want boyfriends) is to go down to the local university, and hang out in a coffee shop, or internet cafe....or put up some advertisements around school....you'll be flooded with requests in no time....privates are great because depending on experience you can charge between $700-$1000/hour...far more than you'd make at any bushiban or kindy |
